I remember most of this well. I can honestly say that I'm not the best manager either. I think you are either good at creativity, sales or overall business management. I can handle two out of three, but not all at once.

I'm terrible at separating business from home life. Ask my very patient and supportive kids. It's much easier when the business is not in the house, but then I found that I stayed at work longer and was no longer there when my youngest got off the bus or to fix his snack. So it's a catch 22.

When you manufacturer a product, it will take over your house. (note to self....next time pick a product to sell that isn't so damn time consuming and clunky. Or better yet, sell someone else's product!) I have stacks of boxes and bubble in my living room right now as I move my studio this week. My living room now has three computers in it, including the UPS Worldship computer and I would actually DIE if anyone came over and saw this heap of a mess!

I choose to believe that a smart biz person will recognize the changes (temporary or not) that need to be made to keep a business thriving. Optimism is great to have, but a little realism goes a long way.

I do however think the retail industry is smoking crack if trying to claim this as the best Christmas season in 4 years!! But then myabe they are including the liquer store sales in that number!!

Hang in there.

@London thanks, and right back at you, oh how I feel your pain. Not sure where you got that story about Christmas, I heard on news it was like 1% better than 2009. Stay positive, if you can!

I'm going home tonight to take a pick, i'm very excited about this (clearly you see how sad and crazy i am about shoes.) Will post the picture
